This is a Snr Software Development role for an experienced and technical Java developer with strong product development experience using enterprise Java. Based in Dublin City Centre with a Product Development company, leading and innovative in their market place, providing security software and services to governments and organizations The key responsibilities of this role will be to: - Work closely with requirements Analyst, Architects, Technical Writers and QC Engineers to Design and Develop and deliver high quality products with in agreed timelines as a key member of the Product Engineering Team - Implement the strategic Product Roadmap - Be responsible for full life-cycle of software product creation and release (from gathering user requirements through research, design, prototyping and implementation) with full design and development aspects - full end-to-end lifecycle responsibility Key skills to highlight on your CV would be: · Degree or higher in Software Engineering / related technical discipline or similar · At least 7 years product development experience using enterprise Java. · Solid Java development skills using JDK 1.4 / 1.5 · Expertise in using a wide variety of Java EE standard technologies (including EJB, Servlets, JSP, JMS, JDBC, RMI, JMX). · Strong working knowledge of XML technologies and Java XML binding technologies (e.g. JAXB, XMLBeans). · Experience in developing multi-user, multi-threaded applications to run within Java EE Application Servers such as Oracle App. Server, WebSphere & WebLogic · Object Oriented Analysis and Design experience using UML · Experience developing applications with enterprise Relational Databases, e.g. Oracle, DB2, SQLServer. · Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills · Preferably experience of working with Agile Development methodologies / practices (e.g. Scrum, XP). · Practical experience of Open Source software such as Spring, Hibernate, Ant, JUnit. · Familiarity with Java Web Services specifications (e.g. JAX-WS) and libraries (e.g. Metro, XFire, CXF).
